The curtains add the final touch to the decoration. Particular attention must therefore be paid to choosing them well. Fabrics, lengths, colour. Here are some tips for choosing your curtains!

What are the different types of curtains?

As an integral part of the interior decoration, the curtains provide the final touch. If they are used in particular for their aesthetic role, curtains also play an essential function in insulation. To choose the suitable curtains, you should know the different types:

Curtains are used for their aesthetic role and to protect themselves from vis-à-vis while allowing maximum light to pass inside.

Insulating curtains: they contain heat in winter and coolness in summer. They also protect against outside noise.

Blackout curtains: they are used to block out daylight. They are beneficial for people who like to sleep in, for example. Thanks to this type of curtain, no more morning awakenings because of the sun’s rays!

Purely aesthetic curtains: they slightly filter the light and protect from vis-à-vis. They are chosen, in particular, according to the interior decoration.

What are the criteria to take into account when choosing your curtains?

The curtain should be in harmony with the interior decoration while meeting the needs of each room. To choose the right curtain, you must consider its location. In the bedroom, the curtain isolates the light and protects oneself from the vis-à-vis. It is therefore recommended to use thick curtains. In the living rooms curtains help insulate the room from the summer heat and winter cold. Therefore, the use of insulating curtains is recommended so that the room remains comfortable, whatever the season. The installation of a double curtain is also recommended there to adapt the brightness according to the time of day.

The size of the curtains should also match that of the windows or bay windows. The rod protrudes about 20 cm on each side of the window. The size of the folds depends on the tastes of each one.
